Parishioner Survey re Hele Valley Trail Purchase
A Public Consultation Parishioner Survey has been launched. It is important for parishioners to note that the proposed precept increase of £5.82 per household per year is ONLY for the proposed Public Works Loan Board (PWLB) repayments. There may be other increases added to the Precept by Marhamchurch Parish Council and this is discussed towards the end of the year at Council meetings. There are also likely to be increases made by Cornwall Council which is out of the control of Marhamchurch Parish Council.

Extraordinary Meeting of the Parish Council 30 June 2025
An Extraordinary Meeting has been called to discuss the Hele Valley Trail and possibility of submitting a request to the Public Works Loan Board for a loan of £20,000 to support the match funding target of £38,000. Update re Hele Valley Trail and Crowdfunding Campaign
Marhamchurch Parish Council (MPC) is working to secure funds to purchase The Hele Valley Trail comprising of 16.24 acres of riverside native heritage woodland and well-established broadleaved woodland, car park and trail. MPC wants to secure funds to buy the Hele Valley Trail and bring it into public ownership to guarantee unrestricted public access in perpetuity with all the associated physical and mental health benefits currently being enjoyed by many.
The Parish Council have received an offer (subject to T&Cs) from The Community Ownership Fund, Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government of £152,000 which is 80% of the sale price. Part of the terms of the grant, is that MPC must match fund the remaining 20% which is £38,000.View full news item

The Parish Council were informed that the application has been successful, and approved in principle the award of a Community Ownership Fund Grant of £152,000 capital funding to The Hele Valley Trail Project.
Marhamchurch Parish Council need to secure £38,000 in match funding in order for the grant from Community Ownership Fund (COF) to be secured. 19th December 2024
