I first moved to Marhamchurch when I purchased The Bullers Arms in March 1994. My family had been farming in Cornwall since 1948, I went to Whitstone CP school and then on to Launceston college. When the Bullers Arms came on the market it seemed an opportunity too good to miss, so my brother and I bought it. I had many happy years there and always made sure that the pub remained at the heart of the village. When we sold the business in 2006, I knew there was nowhere else that I would want to live and have been living in the village for 28 years.

I have been a Parish Councillor for about 12 years now, and currently sit as Chairman, and have been since 2022. I enjoy the many and varied interests that come with the position. I am portfolio holder for the Parish Council Cemetery, along with Planning and the Memorial Garden. You'll often see me keeping the Cemetery and Playpark in order. To be able to carry on serving the village, as I did when I was at The Bullers, is truly a privilege and one I hope to continue to do so for many years to come.

Born and bred in the county, I have lived in Marhamchurch for over 20 years. I am currently responsible for exploring planning applications and to make recommendations to the full council. I also carry out the quarterly financial checks in conjunction with the parish clerk. I’m an honest, fair and open councillor with no political affiliation and try to examine all parish council matters to achieve the best outcome for the parish.

Having grown up on our family farm near Padstow, I moved to the area 18 years ago after meeting my husband, Robert. We first lived at Poundstock and we then moved back to the farm in Marhamchurch Parish. My background and interests are farming and the countryside. We have 3 children and my role has become mainly home-based as a mother, and focusing on supporting and growing our own farming business. I love where we live and I have enjoyed becoming more involved with village life, and as part of this opted to become a Parish Councillor. I am the Portfolio holder for the Clerk Support, Finance and the Playpark, and you will often see me shopping in our wonderful village shop!

Having lived in Marhamchurch Parish for nearly 30 years, I was honoured and proud to lead the campaign of opposition to the Bude-Stratton proposal to take over the parish in 2019. The campaign centred around highlighting our unique history and heritage. Leading the team who organised the parish council's much praised Armistice Centenary Commemoration event is another highlight of my time as a parish councillor. While I passionately fought for Marhamchurch to be represented by our own parish council, I recognise the importance of working with neighbouring parishes to secure best outcomes on issues like delivery of health services. I now sit on Bude-Stratton Town Council, as well as Poundstock Parish Council, where I am the current vice-chair.

Clerk & RFO - I have been Clerk to Marhamchurch Parish Council since 2018 and have found it a rewarding, challenging and interesting role. Marhamchurch is a wonderful community to be a part of. I grew up in Bude, and after a 10 year stint living in Sydney, returned home. We love Marhamchurch and the surrounding areas. You will often find me at Marhamchurch Playpark with my 3 boys, after their days at school. I work part-time but you can always stop me for a chat, or to ask a question, anytime!
